Beyond the Lie
Why do kids lie—even when the truth seems like the easier choice? What if the lie is telling us something we need to understand?
Join us for a practical, honest conversation about lying in foster and adoptive families. We’ll share real-life experiences, explore what may be happening beneath the behavior, and learn how to respond to lies in ways that build connection rather than shame.
Come ready to laugh, learn, share, and leave with a new perspective on what might be beyond the lie.

And if your child needs a break from fishing, no worries! There’s plenty more to enjoy nearby, including a playground, splash pad, and skatepark.
We recommend bringing a lawn chair or blanket for your family to relax on throughout the day.
Most of all, just come ready to enjoy time together as a family! We’re grateful for partners like LDKerns Contractors who make it possible for our Legacy Families to create fun memories together. ❤️
We can’t wait to see you there!

Michelle, with Heart Song for Life, will be sharing what it looks like to move beyond survival living and into steadier rhythms of mental and relational health without guilt or unrealistic expectations. We’ll talk about how to care for your own heart, protect your relationships, and stay anchored and healthy for the long haul.
